Strength Guide
What Strength Reading Glasses Do I Need?
Finding the right strength for your reading glasses doesn’t have to be complicated. Whether you’re replacing an existing pair or trying readers for the first time, AeroOptics makes it easy to choose your perfect fit.
Selecting the correct strength (or diopter) ensures that your reading glasses provide clear, comfortable vision for close-up tasks like reading menus, timetables, or your phone screen. The strength you need depends mainly on your age and how much assistance your eyes require for near focus.
Most AeroOptics reading glasses are available in a range of strengths from +1.00 to +3.00, so you can find your ideal match for everyday convenience.
Match Your Existing Prescription
If you already wear reading glasses or have a prescription from your optometrist, simply choose the same strength for your AeroOptics readers. Our lenses are non-prescription and designed for quick, on-the-go clarity. Perfect for when you don’t have your regular glasses handy.
Age-Based Reading Glass Strength Guide
If you’re unsure which strength to choose, use our simple age-based chart as a helpful starting point:
| Age | Recommended Strength |
| Under 40: | +1.00 to +1.50 |
| 40-49: | +1.50 to +2.00 |
| 50-59: | +2.00 to +2.50 |
| 60 and above: | +2.50 to +3.00 |
These ranges are general guidelines. If you’re between strengths or still uncertain, we recommend starting at the lower end. You can always move up in strength if the text still appears slightly blurred.
